Safaricom Sevens 2011 Media Accreditation Application Instructions
In order to apply for accreditation, please read the following BEFORE submitting your application.
To be able to complete the application form online, you will need your personal details, your passport or identity card number, your company details and information regarding your role at the Safaricom Sevens 2011. To submit your application you will also need a digital passport style photograph.
To apply:
1. Complete the media accreditation application form at the bottom of this page.
If you are applying on behalf of others, please ensure that the details of the applicant/s are used, NOT your own. If you wish to coordinate all accreditation issues, please e-mail us at: media@safarisevens.com Please note: each individual must collect their own pass.
In order to collect your application, you will be required to acknowledge your acceptance of the Safaricom Sevens 2011 Media Accreditation Terms & Conditions and Safaricom Sevens 2011 Media Rules by signing a document. Failure to do so may result in your accreditation being CANCELLED.
Please note as part of your application you are required to submit a letter of endorsement on company letterhead signed by your editor/chief executive. This must be submitted digitally with your accreditation (scanned documents/e-documents are accepted). Without this your application will not be by considered.
Photo Guidance
- Your photograph should be in JPEG/PNG format.
- The image must be a recent and accurate likeness of the applicant on a plain background
- The image should be a front view of the applicant’s head and shoulders ( Hats, hair bands or dark glasses may not be worn, unless always worn for religious or medical reasons)
- This file must be a maximum of 400KB in size.
- The file name must be YourfirstNameYourlastName.jpg for example: BarackObama.jpg
2. Complete your application form online and attach your photograph and endorsement letter and/or relevant documentation.
3. The media accreditation application process will close on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at 17:00 EAT for press and photographers. The applications from Broadcasters (TV in particular) are usually closed a fortnight before the tournament – please email media@safarisevens.com for more details.
You will receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application.
4. Confirmation:
4.1. An e-mail will be sent to applicant telling him/her that he/she has been successful in applying for accreditation to Safaricom Sevens 2011 no later than Friday, Oct 28th, 2011. Should your application be denied for any reason, you will also receive an e-mail to this effect.
4.2. Approved applicants will then receive an e-mail which will include key venue information and information regarding hotels, transport, accreditation pick-up points, Media Centre opening hours and a summary of the facilities you can expect at the venue.
4.3. Before you receive this e-mail, general information regarding the Safaricom7s can be found at http://safarisevens.com
5. Collection:
5.1. To collect your accreditation pass, please print a copy of your confirmation email and bring this, together with your passport or identity document to the Safaricom Sevens Tournament Office on Monday 31st Oct 2011. The office will be open from 10am on Monday 31st Oct 2011.
5.2. The Tournament Office can be found on the Safaricom Sevens Secretariat at Nyayo Stadium, Uhuru Highway.
5.3. You will be required to sign the official ‘Safaricom Sevens 2011 Media Accreditation Terms & Conditions’ and ‘Safaricom Sevens 2011 Media Rules’ at this point.
