Kenya produced a brilliant comeback in the second half to narrowly beat Auckland 12-7 in a pulsating Main Cup Quarter final, and book a date in the semis where they will play Samurai.
Samurai on the other side easily went through past Spain 17-0. A last minute counter ruck by the Kenyan forwards saw the ball trade hands between Philiph Wamae, Biko Adema, Leon Adongo and finally Collins “chuchu” Injera who managed to show his opposite nurmber a clean pair of heels touching down under the posts. A Biko Adema conversion went in right through the posts to extend his teams lead and secure a place in the semis. In the other Main Cup quarters Samoa demolished Zimbabwe 34-0 while Emerging boks managed a 24-14 win over Grenoble. Earlier two quick tries from Humphrey Kayange saw Mwamba beat Rwanda 19-0 in the Bowl quarters. Chris Asego also put his name on the scoring sheet with a single try and his elder brother Lavin Asego managed two conversions.
