New Venue For 2011
Safaricom7s moves to the Nyayo National Stadium in 2011.
- The Safaricom Sevens has been held at the RFUEA Grounds since its inception in 1996. It has witnessed massive growth, both in team participation and fan attendance.
- Average attendances over the past few years have averaged 15,000 fans. This large attendance has put a strain on the infrastructure at Kenya rugby’s spiritual home.
- With the tournament’s ever increasing popularity, it was felt that a move to a bigger, spacious venue would give fans and players a better, more comfortable sevens rugby experience and the Nyayo National Stadium emerged as the obvious candidate.
- Nyayo National Stadium is centrally located, it will be easily accessed by rugby lovers.
- With readily available hospitality areas, broadcast, medical facilities and changing rooms to boot, the Nyayo National Stadium is crucial to the Kenya Rugby Union’s plans to see the Safaricom Sevens up there with the best tournaments on the international stage.

Die hard fun of Kenyan rugby.bt due to the grenade bombings that have recently hit the cbd you have not guaranteed me and my families security at the event.we as fans want assurance that in the three day event our lives will be safe.please reassure us as soon as possible.
There is ample security organised by both kenya police and G4s…there is serious security checks at all entrances hence we advise all fans to be patient with the screening procedure and urge you and your family to enjoy the tournament
We are worried about two things:
1: Security in the parking arrears – how will this be achieved since in the past people have been robbed even inside the event since even criminals can pay the entrance fee with hopes of making more.
2. Where will the village be placed and will there be screens airing the matches there: also where will VIP be? Alot of funs also want to enjoy their tusker and games without fear of appearing on TV!
2. the usual parking space outside gate 2 is not the village
1. check previous reply regarding security.
Will definately be there!
thanks
kino!!!!
we will be there
no terror threat would put me off attending if i were in the country, though its good to point out that security should be of utmost importance, for all involved, especially s children will be attending as well, either way anyone attempting to ruin this game`s history should dig up a six by 4 already,no quarters here, all the best to all the teams, especially our representatives.
God Bless
Ati where will the Village be again??? coz you said and I quote “2. the usual parking space outside gate 2 is not the village”
